By using machine learning, we can get results from data that we never had before. When using mathematics for AI, in most cases the data is entered or captured. What happens with that mathematical data is far more advanced than anyone can imagine.

AI can read, write, debate, create and understand our emotions. Advanced mathematics all has a part in this, with the basic code for AI consisting of numbers before they even get to words. 

With all of this available to us through Machine Learning, the options are endless.


What is the future of Artificial Intelligence?


Well, the options for AI in our daily lives are already so vast, even limitless. Right now students can use AI to read through a website and summarise the content. Professional writers are using AI to write articles or to find topics to write about. We have self-driving cars and delivery robots that are aware of what is around them. There are even machines that are capable of debating with humans and coming up with intelligent arguments.

So, what will AI be able to do in the future? Companies are currently working on AI systems to help teachers in classrooms. These machines will aid in detecting when learners are struggling with work through certain emotions and can alert their teachers. Sometime soon, your customer service representative will be an AI computer program. The everyday items that you find in your supermarket, will be produced by machines. 


Is AI mostly math?


Yes, especially linear algebra, probability, and calculus are currently used by AI. The topics necessary are all compiled, alongside computer programming, to create AI at its core.

If your child would like to study towards creating their own AI, most professionals suggest knowing Advanced mathematics. Not all of it will be useful to AI though, with certain mathematical topics not being needed, or helpful. That is why most universities design their own Advanced mathematics program for their computer engineering courses.

AI is not just the future, but the present for many students. Gone are the days of going to a library to find information, then writing out a summary of what you need. Now you just find an article or journal you would like to use and put it into a website to summarise it for you. 

AI will be helping parents, learners, and teachers in ways we can barely now fully comprehend. 

Teachers won’t have to spend hours grading papers. Parents will see reports about their kids struggling with certain topics before they even get home. Students in classrooms will be managed in an easier way. Help will be offered before students even have to struggle much more than an intense frown.

Imagine an AI system presenting the work as the teacher teaches in the classroom. A student starts struggling to understand a new topic. As the teacher finishes teaching, a pop-up appears asking whether the students request another teaching method or more information. The teacher is notified that this student needs more help and if there is still a problem after class, the parent is also notified.

This is just one idea for an AI integrated classroom. Students will benefit the most out of all the advancements we can make. Those who need more help than the average student will especially benefit. 


Why is AI the future?


It’s estimated that by 2022, a lot of companies will have incorporated Machine Learning in some way. Whether that is automated manufacturing, AI for writing, or the use of AI in customer service. 

We can't deny that there are certain things that machines can do better than people. Machines make fewer mistakes and don’t need to take days off like people do. Of course, certain jobs that need skills that machines can’t mimic (yet) still have job security. However, the more people evolve and improve AI, the more we will rely on it. 

Think about a future where all transport types are run by machines. You hail a taxi and it is self-driving. Need to see a doctor? Well, first you will see an AI nurse who will get your basic symptoms and take your vitals. 

It's a great idea to encourage kids to work alongside AI. This will be to your benefit as much as theirs.


How will AI influence education?


With the growing need for scientists and engineers to grow this empire of AI, we need students who are interested in it. Stem fields are highly encouraged for all students to have a look into. However, the gap in supply and demand is large. This does mean that the positions are highly paid, and people have never-ending job opportunities. 

When schools start to incorporate AI and math programs, students will realize they have options. Kids often don’t know how many options they have when looking at becoming a scientist or engineer. Showing kids, from early on, that there are options will help STEM fields immensely.


Finally, what about the future of math?


STEM fields are high in demand and math goes hand in hand with the development of STEM. Without math, AI wouldn’t exist at its core. That's why learning math has become such an important part of life. This is the reason, why teachers should encourage students to continue advancing their math skills.
